Did you ever wonder who decides these things?  There is an international company called Pantone who meets annually and privately in a European capital to decide the color of the year that carries through fashion and design.  This year’s color is emerald.  But groups of colors are selected for seasonal color.  Step into the store for a blast of color and print this year.  So here is the introduction to this year’s spring and summer colors.

The theme is Color As An Expression of Balance.  And in the words of Pantone, it includes novel neutrals and a balance between light and bright.  Color and clothing is a means of self expression and this year there are so many choices to suit your taste, mood and skin tone.  And on a lighter note-color is fun, mood lifting and dares you to try something new.

Color as neutrals this year includes dusk blue, grayed jade and linen.  These are tones that team with other colors to balance them and make them pop.   Add to that emerald pulled from nature where that deep green is a ground for every color.  And the zip continues with African violet, an exotic floral color, nectarine, warm coral orange that is very flattering, poppy red combines with other colors and makes a statement, lemon zest and tender shoots, a yellow and green that just yell that spring is here, and finally monaco blue, a bright dark blue.

Lots to choose from, so come explore.  There is a lot of thinking that goes into these color selections–but for you, it’s what make you feel good and look great!
