Baby Doe's: |
| Baby
Doe's Clothing is not only
a women's boutique. It is
a place to meet an old
friend or make a new one.
Baby Doe's is a gathering
place for women of all
ages to meet, to laugh, to
get advice on which color
looks best, how something
new really looks, where to |
| get
a good haircut, or
what's going on in
town. It's a
perfect place for
girlfriends,
mothers and
daughters, and
business travelers
to shop, visit and
enjoy a break from
their busy
schedules. Baby
Doe's is a
delightful
community of
women.
The
fabric of the
store is color,
texture and good
fit: a unique
combination of
casual clothing
and wearable art.
As buyers we pride
ourselves in
finding pieces
that are
fashionable and
fabrics that feel
so good. This is
clothing that
makes you feel as
good as you look.
A
tour through the
store is a delight
to the senses. Our
goal is to provide
you choices to
enjoy in every day
of you life --
from a day in the
mountains to a
night on the town
and everything in
between. |

We
are a dog
friendly
store. You
are
welcome to
bring your
dog into
our store
on a lead
or in your
arms. |

History
Baby Doe's Clothing opened
in 1999 and moved to its
present location in 2002.
Baby Doe's home is the old
Fair Variety Store. The
Fair was like a
Woolworth's in the 1950's. |
| It
was where every
child bought their
penny candy.
You could find
everything there
from embroidery
floss, to
hairnets, to toys
and household
goods. When
the Fair closed,
during renovation
the advertising
mural on the north
wall was
uncovered.
This mural was
originally on the
outside wall of
the adjoining
building and
advertises
Wrigley's PK
Chewing Sweet.
We enjoy hearing
the memories of
those
"kids"
who stop in for a
visit and remember
buying their candy
at the Fair. |

Community
Baby Doe's Clothing is an active
participant in community events,
fundraising and marketing our
community. This is crucial to our
mission to help make Golden a
place where people want to be- as
a resident or visitor. Staff
members donate their time and
skills each year as committee
chair and volunteers for the
Golden Fine Arts Festival and the
store hosts artist demonstrations
and special events during the
festival. Baby Doe's is committed
to supporting artists and their
work throughout the year. Our
store has always been a venue for
artists and a place where people
find that they can enjoy a piece
of wearable art in their daily
life.
In addition to our involvement in
community events, Baby Doe's has
participated in fundraising
efforts of many organiztions by
offering shopping days where a
percentage of sales are donated to
the organization. We host an
annual fundraising event for Sky
High Hope Camp, a camp for kids
with cancer and their siblings
which operates under the aegis of
the Ronald McDonald House.
